I Wish I Was A Ninja Pet Nat is from one of South Africa’s most interesting and bravest wineries. The winemaker, Craig Hawkins, has a dedicated winery with plenty of space and a steady supply of excellent grapes from well-farmed vineyards.
Colombard is usually used as a blending grape or in Brandy, but Craig has managed to produce a super fun, off-dry Pet Nat. Crisp acidity with plenty of fruit to back it up.
Testalonga is the brainchild of Craig Hawkins - a superstar of the low intervention wine scene in his native Swartland, South Africa.
Craig travelled and worked extensively in Europe, carrying out vineyard work in Portugal, Italy Spain & Austria. Now using typical South African grape varieties, farmed organically, Craig & his wife Anna experiment a little each vintage, playing with different techniques in both their El Bandito & Baby Bandito range. The wines are always made with little to no additions in both the vineyard & cellar and truly represent Craig, Anna & the exciting natural wine movement of Swartland.
